Computing on Campus

The MCDS student cluster, donated by Yahoo, comprises 34 slave hosts controlled by a single head node. The Parallel Data Laboratory cluster contains 130 hosts (AMD OpteronProcessor 242  — two processors x one core, 16 G, 2TB disk). This cluster runs a variety of virtualization software and is shared with a variety of other projects on the campus. Students typically also use the Amazon Cloud infrastructure for teaching assignments. Read more about our campus computing facilities on the Services for Students page.
